My IS101-3003/5 Experience
How was my experience with IS101? Overall, I really enjoyed this class. This is easily one of the best classes I have taken in my college career. The course highlighted the importance of having Microsoft certifications, and made it feel meaningful. The class was very well structured and easily understood. Assignments let me apply the skills I was learning and ensured I was retaining the knowledge.
I especially appreciate the effort Professor Wu put towards maintaining contact and helping us students. This stood out to me because, I'd never had a teacher put anywhere near as much effort into this as he has. Another unique aspect were class recognitions. I found these really motivating and they helped me enjoy and get through the course. I can tell Professor Wu loves his job and truly wants to see students succeed.
6.5.4 Slide Master Facts
Section 6.5.4 of LabSim Chapter 6 was one of the most notable sections for me. I had never heard of the Slider Master feature of Microsoft PowerPoint before. Slide Master lets you easily manipulate the entire layout and theme of a slideshow, specifically the templates. Previously, I would have to tediously change every single slide one at a time. Now with this knowledge I can change everything all at once. This makes editing slideshows a breeze.
A5 Presentation
For my A5 presentation, I chose to cover 3 techniques to improve photographs. Excluding the rule of thirds, all images were taken by me, and a brief overview is included below.
I really did enjoy this class. Everything about it felt very friendly, and I believe the content will be extremely useful for my future. I want to thank Professor Wu for being a wonderful teacher, and my classmates for being amazing. I wish everyone the best!
Hey Scott! Your presentation looks so cool, I wish I could have been there to see it!
ReplyDeleteHi Scott, honestly Slide Master felt like Microsoft finally showing mercy because before that I thought we were all expected to manually edit every single slide until retirement age. Your post sounded very optimistic for someone who also survived Excel, which honestly surprised me a little.
ReplyDeleteThe part about camera positioning and improving photographs was actually interesting because small things like angles and framing really do change how professional a picture looks, even if most people do not notice it at first. Hopefully after IS101, the only slides you have to edit are the ones in a pharmacy drive-thru or a fast-food menu board.
Your presentation was really good as I can relate on using different techniques when taking photography. I'm more on the videography side of things but the rules still applies with different restrictions. It's inspiring how you achieved so many things in this class and something to look up to! Wish you the best in the future and in your photography!
ReplyDeleteHi Scott, I’m glad you mentioned Professor Wu too, because I feel the same way. He really puts in a lot of effort to help students understand and succeed, and that makes the class feel more supportive and motivating.
ReplyDeleteHI Scott, I wish I would have seen your presentation. I would love to learn how to apply those photography techniques myself and practice them more.
ReplyDeleteI too appreciate the communication with the Professor it definitely stood out. When someone shows that type of passion and willingness to teach in a manner like that it's hard not to want to follow suit and succeed.
ReplyDeleteHi Scott, the Slide Master feature is completely new to me as well. I appreciated how well formatted your slideshow presentation was, very organized.
ReplyDeleteWell said Scott! I really like your new blog design, you've mastered this class with flying colors, have a good one!
ReplyDeleteHi Scott. You're presentation was really interesting to me. I like photography and I love seeing other peoples photos so I was pretty invested. Great job and good luck for the future!
ReplyDeleteHi Scott. I really liked your A5 presentation topic about techniques for photography. It shows how skilled you are in the field.
ReplyDeleteHey Scott, your topic is not just interesting but it also looks useful for people like me who likes to take pictures to keep as memories but especially for people who actually does professional photography. Nice job!
